As I mentioned yesterday I have never managed to crack crocheting in the round. I found some really useful instructions here and decided to have a bit of a play , once I got the hang of joining each round there was no stopping me. My lovely hubby was at work last night, so I rummaged around in the wool stash and picked out my yarns and set to making the beginnings of a throw. It has a vintage 70's vibe but I love it, getting the wool out of its home wasn't easy and I must set aside some time today to tidy it up. At the moment all my wool is stored in a huge drawstring bag , unfortunately this means I can never find anything and that all the ends are loose and have become entwined! After all the pre-move decluttering we have been doing I have a few empty plastic under bed boxes with lids and one (or perhaps two......) of these will make the pefect home for my wool stash.

Well done, its going to be lovely when its finished.
I went to the US in 2000 and a friend there taught me to crochet an Afghan, I love it, but its quite heavy. Needless to say I cannot remember how I did it. I am hopeless at doing squares.....
I managed to get a blanket like this from a local charity shop. It was £1 and in the pet blanket section. It is lovely and warm and I would love to be able to make one myself. I think it would also make a lovely cushion cover if lined. I was looking at craft courses yesterday and this has tempted me to do the crohet one. My Mum is a fantastic knitter but has never managed to get one with crohet so I can't get tips from her unfortunately.
hummmm, this is something that i need to get back to
am going to be popping back to see how you get on!
